Reserving a Van
途游休闲捕鱼正版官网 has vans available for students, faculty and staff to reserve for university or club purposes only. University approved purposes include community service, academic trips or projects, authorized student clubs, administrative purposes. Vans can accommodate between 7 passengers to 13 passengers. Drivers must be van certified to drive or operate a Brandeis owned or rented vehicle. To get certified, the vehicle use application (pdf) form must be completed and submitted to DSE for approval using this form. The form and a copy of applicants driver's license must be submitted to Public Safety via email ([email protected]) or in-person for approval before taking the online training course.
Reservations are processed Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and must be made at least 48 hours (business day) prior to date of reservation request. Reservations are not complete until a confirmation email has been received.

Van reservations can be made using the van request form. Please be sure to include all request information including:
- Date of request
- Time of reservation
- Destination
- Reason for Request
- Brandeis certified van driver information
Please note, requests take 2-3 business days to complete, so please be sure leave enough time before your request. Any questions, please email Student Engagement.
- Prior to your trip departure, all clubs/departments must fill out the van passenger form to provide trip information as well as a passenger list.
- All vans are parked in D-Lot (parking lot behind East Quad) and should only be parked in the back row in spots labeled for Brandeis Vans
- Van keys are picked up at Public Safety office in the Stoneman Building.
- Individuals picking up van keys must provide an active U.S. drivers license
- Vehicle Inspection:
- Allow for time to shovel snow around or clean ice from vehicle prior to driving
- Before leaving campus, inspect the van for any damage and notify Student Engagement. If necessary, please provide pictures
- Vans should be parked immediately back in D-Lot (parking lot behind East Quad) in the designated van parking spaces
- Vans should not be parked in other locations on campus other than picking up or dropping off items
- Drivers should refill the gas tank prior to returning to campus
- All trash and personal items should be removed from the vehicle upon arrival back to campus
- Drivers should inspect the vehicle after use and notify Student Engagement of any damage or maintenance issues immediately
- Keys should be returned to Public Safety immediately upon returning to campus
General Policies
- Only Brandeis certified drivers may operate university owned or rented vehicles
- Vans must be parked in the parking lot behind East Quad (D-Lot). At no time should a van be parked overnight elsewhere on campus or at an off-campus residence.
- Drivers must be able to provide an active driver's license
- Drivers must follow ALL rules of the road
- All vehicle occupants are required to wear a seatbelt at all times
- Drivers and passengers must follow the rules and regulations put forth in the most recent Rights and Responsibilities document
- The use of alcohol and other drugs in a university van is not permitted. Any operation of a college vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited and will result in the revocation of driving privileges and will be subject to disciplinary action
- Due to limited height clearance, university vans may not be parked or driven in parking garages
- Drivers may drive a maximum of 6 consecutive hours
- Clubs may travel no more than 18 hours in one day
- Travel between the hours of 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. is prohibited
- A single driver may drive no more than 9 hours in one day. Drivers should make sense that they are taking necessary breaks to ensure the driver is awake and alert while operating the vehicle
Overnight Rentals
- Clubs participating in an overnight event must turn in completed waivers (provided by Student Activities) for all students participating in the overnight prior to departing campus
- Clubs should provide the location of the overnight including address and contact number for location
- A single driver may drive no more than 9 hours in one day. Drivers should make sense that they are taking necessary breaks to ensure the driver is awake and alert while operating the vehicle
- Clubs may travel no more than 18 hours in one day
- Travel between the hours of 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. is prohibited
Accidents and Vehicle Damage
- The driver and reserving party are responsible up to the $1000 insurance deductible in the case of an accident or damage
- If involved in any type of accident, the driver must submit an accident report to Public Safety immediately. Driver should also notify the Student Engagement via email. If communication does not occur, van privileges may be revoked
- Drivers should fill out this accident form (PDF) and submit to public safety when completing a report
Speeding and Parking Tickets
- Any speeding, parking tickets or toll violations that occur while using the van are to be paid by the driver and/or participating party. Brandeis will not cover the cost of tickets received while using a van
- Tickets received on campus are the responsibility of the driver and/or sponsoring organization
